Panagia Tomb etc.

view to Panagia Tomb

The "Panagia Tomb" lies to the west of the "Treasury of Atreus" on the ridge just below Panagia chapel after which it is named. It is an example of group II of the tholos tombs at Mycenae. The upper parts of the tholos are missing, but the dromos with the typical lining wall of this period, although partly collapsed, a very nice stomion, and part of the thalomos with its wall of hammer-dressed stones are preserved.
